Historic One-Two Punches: Werner & Zealand May Be The GOATS

This year has been the deepest, fastest, and honestly craziest year for distance on the girls' side in Virginia. Running a time this year that would have ranked you first in the state would only rank you 12th this year.

Leading the way though for this historically great year were two teammates making the case for being named VA's greatest 1-2 punch. Those teammates were Kayla Werner and Allie Zealand

Kayla ended the season ranked VA #1 and VA #2 all-time in the 3200 while Allie finished out the season ranked VA #1 and VA #5 all-time in the 1600. Both ladies also ranked highly in the opposite event as well.

Kayla's 10:02.14c broke Erin Keogh's state senior record while Allie's 10:15.00 broke Rachel McArthur's sophomore state record in the 3200.
