Freshman Bumbrey might take 800m and 1600m

With all the changes that\'s being made with Single A it\'s been hard to get info on the right people and teams. But no doubt I still have info on a girl who might take it all this year in the 800m and 1600m, and that girl is Shylan Bumbrey from James Monroe.

Bumbrey will bring a lot of excitement to the already exciting upcoming season in Single A track. Shylan was runner up in the 1500m at USATF Youth Regional III Championship last year with a time of 4:56.72. Somkin isn\'t it. But that\'s not her best time in the 1500m. Her PR is a 4:53.89, so you know she\'s going to bring the heat to Single A.

It looks that she can do the 800m just as well as the 1500m or when track starts the 1600m. She is the 1999 & 2000 AAU National Champion in the 800m. Her best time in the 800m is a 2:16.10, which she did it at Duke University in 2000. But she came close last year when she ran a 2:17.72 at the same place. So at a early age she has the mental awareness to beat other runners in a race and she has the national accomplishments to prove it. Now with her in the mix, it looks like Mindy Peele from Brentsville will have a challenge after all in the 1600m.
