When previewing the 2023 VA Showcase it is really all about those national records and seeing which ones could fall this January. One of the biggest records that could fall is that of Sydney McLaughlin's 36.82 indoor 300m dash record set back in 2017.
The time is certainly fast and she is one of the all-time bests but her mark is certainly in danger. Leading the hunt for that record is superstar and Arkansas signee, Shawnti Jackson.
Jackson came scarily close to the record last year running 36.95. She will be joined by Madison Whyte (headed to USC in the fall) who ran 37.73 last year and potentially Elise Cooper who is entered in the meet but currently gearing towards a 200. Cooper's best time from last year was 37.60.
They will certainly be joined by multiple sub 39 girls this year and in this event we would not be surprised if five girls broke 38.
