Two Class 5 Juniors Both Scored 31 Pts At States!

It was quite a weekend for the former Central Region at the Class 5 state meet. In the girls competition they went 1-2-6-10. Leading the way was Glen Allen with L.C. Bird in second. They scored 66 and 60 points respectively.

What was even more impressive was how two former Central Region athletes each took over the meet. Those two athletes were Kaitlyn Cook and Pryncess Jackson, each scoring 31 individual points.

These two went 1-2 in the triple jump, 1-2 in the 100mH, 5-6 in the 300mH, and 2-8 in the high jump.

Individually Jackson took home victories in the triple jump and 100mH and got second in the high jump based on a tie-breaker. Her point totals were 10-10-8-3.

Cook on the other hand was the winner in the long jump and also ran a leg on the 4th place finishing 4x100m relay. Her individual points were 31 (10-8-8-4-1) but also helped score 5 more points as a part of that relay.

You could make an argument for either athlete to be named the meet MVP but what is the best stat of all is the fact that both are only juniors and will be back for more next year!
