VISAA D1 Boys

The Potomac School boys have come into top form in October and look like the favorite to hold off the consistently strong boys from Saint John Paul. Potomac's Sasha Minksy looks set to win the individual race improving on his fourth place finish from a year ago.

Predicted Champion: Potomac School

Predicted Runner-up: Saint John Paul

Predicted Individual Champion: Sasha Minsky, Potomac School

VISAA D1 Girls

In the girls Division 1, race, the Collegiate girls have a strong top three in Virginia Harris, Rosie Ferrel, and Bridgit Blaszak, but they will have to hold off what will certainly be a strong effort from the girls of The Potomac School. Individually, Molly Weithman of Bishop O'Connell is a rock-solid bet to repeat as the girls champion.

Predicted Champion: Collegiate School

Predicted Runner-up: Potomac School

Predicted Individual Champion: Molly Weithman, Bishop O'Connell

VISAA D2 Boys

The Trinity boys are looking for their third straight State Championship and their season thus far puts them in the strongest position among the D2 schools. Last year's runner-up from North Cross and the ascending boys from Covenant School have the best chance to knock Trinty off the podium. Individually it will be a showdown between Covenant's emerging star Jon Nathan Lawrence and last year's champ Calvin Dovgalyuk from Trinity.

Predicted Champion: Trinity Christian School

Predicted Runner-up: The Covenant School

Predicted Individual champion: Jon Nathan Lawrence, The Covenant School

VISAA D2 Girls

The Covenant girls have surfaced as an elite team statewide and should go unchallenged as back-to-back champions in Division 2. The perennially strong Veritas girls will do their best to unseat Covenant but at this point they are safe bet for the runner-up spot. Once again, Reese Dalton and Maddie Gardener will likely take the top two individual spots. Reese Dalton is the strong favorite after her win at Milestat with the jaw-dropping time of 16:58.

Predicted Champion: The Covenant School

Predicted Runner-up: Veritas School

Predicted Individual champion: Reese Dalton, The Covenant School

VISAA D3 Boys

In the D3 boys race, Eastern Mennonite has to be the favorite with a solid top 5 and consistent performances all season. However, they will need to be at their best to hold off a talented group from Tandem Friends School--the Tandem program has overperformed for years despite their small size and are looking to get finally get state-wide recognition. Individually look for Curtis Leachman from Wakefield school to take the win followed by Charlie Kalnite from Tandem.

Predicted Champion: Eastern Mennonite School

Predicted Runner-up: Tandem Friends School

Predicted Individual champion: Curtis Leachman, Wakefield

VISAA D3 Girls

Stonebridge School should cruise to their second straight D3 championship with most of their top runners returning from last season's championship group. Josie Nunziata and Eve Frost are likely to go to both go top 5 and lead Stonebridge to victory. Grace Christian of Staunton are the presumptive runner up moving up from their 3rd place finish from a year ago. Individually, Kerrigan Chaney of North Cross should dominate the individual race to repeat as individual champion.
