Moffatt and Lewis standout in jumps

HAMPTON, VA -- A decent number of teams in the tidewater area competed at the 2002 Hampton Relays held at Hampton University. The meet served as an icebreaker for most of the teams as they initiated their outdoor track seasons.

National champion high jumper, Keith Moffatt of Menchville had the top field event performance of the day as he went 6-6 in his specialty.

Yvette Lewis though stole the show on the girls side as she won the high jump (5-0), long jump (5.33m), and triple jump (11.57m).

There were some noteworthy times out of the girls\' relay events. Salem won both the 4x100 (48.29) and sprint medley (4:25.32). Bayside also was impressive as they won the 4x200 in 1:45.92. Menchville\'s 4:02.67 in the 4x400 rounded out some very quick times in the sprint relays.

The distance relays were owned by Cox as the Lady Falcons won the 4x800 in 9:59.49 and distance medley in 13:30.66.
