Athletes of the week for the week ending on March 23, 2002, are Matt Wolak of Mills Godwin and Morgan Barry of St. Catherine\'s. Each athlete had outstanding opening performances for their outdoor track season at the Manchester Relays despite very windy and cold conditions.
The Mills Godwin senior, Wolak had some solid splits in relay action as most noteworthy was a 1:56 split in the 4x800. Wolak will be looking to run some very quick times in both the 800 and 1600 this outdoor season
The leader of the distance powerhouse of St. Catherine\'s, Barry ran two strong legs on the 4x800 and Distance Medley Relay to help her team to wins in both. She will be a favorite to win many of the post season independent school meets in the distance events this spring.
