The Class 3 Boys' Race is exactly why Championship Season is so great and why you have to run the race. Heading into the race Broadway were 54 point underdogs on paper to Maggie Walker and despite all of that found a way to win 73 to Maggie Walker's 83.
Leading the way for Broadway was Tristan Yoder who won the Class 3 individual title in 15:34, the fastest time run this weekend at either location. He has led Broadway all season and this certainly was the ending he hoped for.
Following him were Jaiden Santos Nguyen (7th), Peyton Allen (20th), Gavin Diehl (21st), Grayson Jacquez (45th), Asher Ryan (47th), and Cameron Shifflett (79th). Both Diehl and Ryan ran season bests on the day.
What is crazy though is how each and every one of these guys ran the race of their season when it mattered most. Comparing their times to the state meet preview meet on September 28th, these boys improved 31 seconds, 50 seconds, 28 seconds, 99 seconds, 49 seconds, and 105 seconds respectively.
Each and every boy did their job and that is exactly how you pull off the biggest upset of the weekend.
