CNU Men Finish Third, Women Place Fifth At Dickinson Invitational

CARLISLE, PA - Christopher Newport\'s men\'s cross country team finished third while the women placed fifth at the Dickinson Invitational hosted by Dickinson College.

This race was a long-course/short course race with two races each for the men and women.

On the men\'s side, Dickinson placed first with 65 points, Ithaca (NY) was second with 94, CNU was third with 97, Frostburg St was fourth with 109 and Millersville (Division II) was fifth with 116.

In the men\'s 4,000-meter, Cary Chaffee finished fifth overall with a time of 13:06, Tim Scott placed seventh with a time of 13:09, and Jason Myers was 15th with a time of 13:21.

In the 8,000-meter race, David Barham placed 13th with a time of 27:39, Daniel Swale was 20th with a time of 28:00 and David Baer was 37th with a time of 28:38.

On the women\'s side, Dickinson finished first with 51 points, Ithaca was second with 81, Mt Union was third with 97, Baldwin-Wallace was fourth with 128 and CNU finished fifth with 134.

In the 4,000-meter race, Megan Fogarty placed seventh with a time of 15:33, Bridgett Dryer was 12th with a time of 15:47 and Elizabeth Browning finished 58th in 17:15.

In the 6,000-meter course, Emily Low finished seventh with a time of 23:45, Ashley Ezell was 10th in 24:06 and Crystal Pruitt was 58th with a time of 26:42.

Cross Country returns to action next Saturday in the Gettysburg Invitational.
