NSU Men

CENTREVILLE, VA -— The NSU men's cross country team took second place on Saturday at the George Washington University Invitational at Bull Run Regional Park. The women's team finished eighth out of nine.

The men's team took fourth, fifth and sixth places and tallied 74 total points, trailing only Mary Washington's 41. Cleophus Koros (Kapsabet, Kenya/Mt. St. Mary's) was fourth overall, finishing the 8K course in 26:37, Francis Kirong (Nairobi, Kenya/Moi University) was fifth in 26:50, and Patrick Scott (Jacksonville, Fla./Wolfson) was sixth in 26:55.

The women finished with 171 points, just behind Hampton (164) and George Mason (202). Denisha Hudson (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) was again the top NSU finisher, tying for 10th overall and finishing in 20:07 on the 5K course. Linah Tallam (Nakuru, Kenya/Central Arizona CC) came in 21st in 20:30 and Fabiana Perlingeiro (Praia Do Canto, Brazil/Va. Intermont), in her first meet running for the Spartans, was 28th in 20:41.

The Spartan women run at the East Carolina Invitational this Saturday, while the NSU men have the weekend off.
