Four CNU Runners Named USA South Athlete Of The Week

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Four CNU cross country runners received USA South Athlete of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday evening.

Cary Chaffee was named USA South Cross Country Runner of the Week. He finished fourth out of 60 runners with a time of 25:47 to help the Captains finish first at the Mason-Dixon Championships. Chaffee was named to the All-Mason-Dixon team.

Emily Low was named USA South Cross Country Women\'s Runner of the Week. Low finished first with a new school record time of 21:51 to help the Lady Captains to a first place finish. She was named Mason-Dixon Athlete of the Year and earned All-Mason-Dixon Conference honors.

Jay Wyss was named Men\'s Cross Country Rookie of the Week. The freshman placed fifth at the Mason-Dixon Championships with a time of 25:52. He was also instrumental in helping CNU to a first place finish. He too also earned All-Mason-Dixon honors.

Bridgett Dryer was named USA South Women\'s Cross Country Rookie of the Week. Dryer finished 12th out of 42 runners with a time of 23:23 to earn All-Mason-Dixon honors. She also helped CNU to a first place finish.
