CNU Cross Country Sweeps Major Awards, 14 Earn All-Conference

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Christopher Newport\'s cross country team swept the men\'s and women\'s Runner, Rookie and Coach of the Year honors, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Sophomore Cary Chaffee was named USA South Men\'s Runner of the Year while freshman Jay Wyss was named USA South Men\'s Rookie of the Year.

On the women\'s side, junior Emily Low was named USA South Women\'s Runner of the Year while freshman Bridgett Dryer was named USA South Rookie of the Year.

Low, Dryer, Ashley Ezell, Megan Fogarty and Crystal Pruitt earned First Team All-USA South honors. Elizabeth Browning and Grace Lovegrove received Second Team All-USA South honors.

Chaffee, Wyss, David Barham, Daniel Swale and Tim Scott were First Team All-USA South choices. Jim Highsmith and Nate Wallace earned Second Team All-USA South honors.

CNU\'s cross country team returns to action this Saturday for the USA South Conference Championships at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro, NC.
