Great Bridge sophomore Shakeela Saunders came away as a champion in two events at the elite Mobile Challenge of Champions meet held in Alabama which annually gathers some of the best athletes in the Southeast region. Saunders won the long jump and triple jump with state best marks of 18'10" and 39'5.25", while placing third in the 200 meter dash later in the evening with a time of 24.69 (VA #3). Great Bridge teammate Taylor Sykes also competed in Mobile and finished as a runner-up in the 400 with a time of 49.22 while doubling back to take fifth in the 200 meter dash.
