CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Two-time defending CAA Champion William and Mary men's track and field witnessed a wealth of season best performances as athletes tuned up for next weekend's CAA Championships by competing this Saturday at Virginia's Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational.

A number of athletes saw their season debuts in events in preparations for the lineup at CAAs. Junior Graham Kearney (Richmond, VA) led the Tribe in the 800m timing a 1:55.87 in his season debut in the event. Freshman Daivd Groff (Centreville, VA) knocked six seconds off his previous career-fast time with a 1:56.39 in the race, just ahead of sophomore Steve Gillard (Herndon, VA) who clocked a personal record 1:56.96. Redshirt freshman Spencer Kirk (River Forest, IL) also set a career fast time in the 800m with a 1:57.17 while freshman Steve Waite (Little Silver, NJ) timed a career best 4:02.86 in the 1,500m. Junior Steve Nichols (Media, PA) posted a personal record in the 110m hurdles with his time of 15.38.

Tribe track and field will seek its third-consecutive CAA Championship next weekend, April 22-23 in Fairfax, VA.
