Blacksburg (1st, 19 pts), Cave Spring (2nd, 83 pts), Abingdon (3rd, 92 pts), and Christiansburg (4th, 130 pts) boys advanced onto the state meet from Region IV. Blacksburg's George Carter won with a time of 16:25 and only Cave Spring junior Cody Seymour (2nd, 16:30) was able to break up Blacksburg from a perfect sweep of the top seven places. Blacksburg only had a 40 second spread and looked very much like the top ranked team in the state and defending Group AA state champion caliber squad from earlier in the season.
Hidden Valley (1st, 34 pts), Blacksburg (2nd, 42 pts), Christiansburg (3rd, 99 pts), and Cave Spring (4th, 109 pts) girls advance to the state meet from Region IV. Hidden Valley's Annie LeHardy (18:31) and Haley Cutright (18:33) dropped the field by the two mile mark to open up over a 30 second margin for a 1-2 finish and led the Hidden Valley girls to their fourth straight Region IV title over Blacksburg as seniors. Hidden Valley had four All-Region performers in LeHardy, Cutright, Carolyn Bethel (5th, 19:50), and Ashleigh Torres (11th, 20:29). Cave Spring freshmen Katie Fortner ran well individually to place third with a time of 19:08.
