THE PLAINS, VA -- John Handley junior Bobby Lockhart wanted to break 15 on the state course today at the Northwestern District Meet, but had to settle with a 15:14. One of the fastest times ever ran on the Great Meadow 5K course, Lockhart was still displeased with the time as he had hopes of breaking 15. He'll get another crack at running sub 15 on the same course, 2 weeks from now at the AA State Meet.
Lockhart had to be pleased though with his team performance as they won the boys district team title as they put 3 runners in the top 5 for a total score of 37. Loudoun Valley took second with 47 points.
The Potomac Falls dominated the girls side as they were led by freshmen Katie Endres who won the individual district title in a time of 19:07. They placed 4 girls in the top 15 for a score of 43 points.
