
The top 8 high school girls' performer in each indoor event in the state of Virginia as of January 20th. Landstown sophomore Leah Lott (pictured above by Ted Plunkett) opened up her 2011 season last week in a regular season district meet at Boo Williams clocking a significant personal best time of 8.19 to make her the new state leader in the 55 meter hurdles. As a freshmen last year, Lott had a solid best time of 8.77 but failed to qualify for the state indoor championships in the hurdles. However, she did qualify for the state outdoor championships and made the finals of the 100 meter hurdles with a sixth place finish. She dipped well under 15 seconds in the 100 hurdles during the AAU summer track season with an impressive ninth grade performance of 14.68 to springboard her into her sophomore year.
