ROCKBRIDGE, VA -- Rockbridge sophomore John Crews and Jefferson Forest junior Shannon Saunders both won easily at the Region III cross country meet held on Crews' home course at Rockbridge HS as each runners' closest competition was their teammates. Both runners' teams also won region titles as well.
Crews covered the 5K course in a time of 16:22 as teammate Chris Patterson took runner up honors with a time of 16:51 as the Wildcats won the regional team title.
It went 1-2-3 Jefferson Forest as they won the girls team title with Saunders winning the race in a time of 19:38. The Rockbridge girls gave the Lady Cavaliers a scare though as they placed 5 runners in the top 10 for a team score of 36 points.
