Following in the footsteps of his older brothers who ran for the Radford High School cross country team, Walker Mogen is leading the Bobcats into the VHSL State Cross Country Championships as one of the top individual contenders in the race after a strong fall of racing following a state outdoor 3200 meter title last spring. More important for Mogen is maintaining Radford's streak of top three team finishes at the state championships which dates back to 2005. Radford was a close runner-up to Parry McCluer at the Region C Meet, which both teams will be in the mix for state podium spots along with top teams from the always stout Region B. The Region C champion has developed a great rivalry with another junior runner in Group A in returning state champion Jon Ulrich of Lebanon.
