
After spending her first year and a half of high school in New Jersey, Hannah Rose and her family moved to Virginia with Hannah to attend and run cross country and track for Wilson Memorial High School in Staunton. Rose instantly became the top runner for Wilson and qualified for state competition in both indoor and outdoor track at the Group AA level. Wilson Memorial dropped back down to Group A this fall, which has resulted in Rose only moving up in her meet performances to another level. Strasburg senior Katlyn Ayers had been expected to become one of the rare three-time state cross country champions, but Rose's move to Virginia and Wilson's reclassification has put a three-peat in serious jeopardy. The Wilson Memorial junior Rose has beaten Ayers decisively in all three match-ups this season and owns a swift season best time of 18:42 from a third place finish against top Group AAA and AA competition at the Albemarle Invitational in early October.
