Men finish 1-3-5, women take 4-6
Virginia\'s Ryan Foster led a 1-3-5 finish in the men\'s 10K as the All-ACC and All-Regional performer won his first individual ACC title with a 30:20.72 effort, helping Virginia to stand in third at the conclusion of the first day of competition at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Teammate Andrew Dumm earned All-ACC honors with his third-place finish, coming in at 30:29.11. Taylor Smith finished fifth overall at 31:18.88, as the Cavaliers were the only school to have more than two scorers in the event. On the women\'s side, Kara Scanlin finished fourth with a 36:04.97, just ahead of teammate Laura Hodges, who ran 36:13.53.
Kathryn Pettine vaulted 11\' 9.75\" to take seventh in the pole vault, helping Virginia to rank eighth at the end of the first day of competition, seven points out of first place.
