1. You recently defended your Big East 100 meter Championship in a time of 11.62, took second in the 200 meters in a time of 23.30 seconds and led of the winning 4x100 meter relay as well. As we head into the regional meet, do you feel you are relaxed and ready to perform?

After a much needed weekend off I feel very relaxed I was kind of bummed about my 100 meter time after Big East and tried to refocus these past few weeks I've done all I can to prepare so the rest should take care of itself.

2. As the World Junior Champion at 100 meters, what are your plans this summer after the NCAA Outdoor Championships conclude?

I intend to compete at USA Championships and who knows where that could lead.

3. A native of Rochester, Pennsylvania, what led you to enroll and want to compete for the Miami Hurricanes?

I was not a high profile recruit coming out of high school and I felt like some where underestimating my abilities Coach Deem and Coach Rubin where interested from day one and seemed very sincere. I was also interested in moving to a warm climate.

4. You also competed and did quite well in the long jump during your high school career. Do you ever see yourself competing in that event again or would that take away from your focus on the sprinting events?

I'd like to give it a try just to see if there is any real potential but I don't see that happening any time in the near future Coach Deem wants me to focus on my sprints.

5. Looking ahead and beyond your collegiate career, what kind of goals or times would you like to accomplish?

I don't really like to tell my plans because nothing ever really goes as "planned" but I'd like to compete in 2004 and 2008 olympics then pursue my career what ever that may be.

6. Now that the new regional system is here, do you think the extra time on the track and meets that you have to peak for have any kind of negative effect on yourself as a student-athlete?

It is hard to attend summer one and some people need that others just want to attend in order to make the most of there time spent at a university track really makes that hard. I'm not really sure about when I peak but but for some the peak has come and gone and they will be disadvantaged. I feel as if I'm running well and should only get better.

7. What do you try to focus on the most when coming out of the blocks for the first 30-40 meters of the 100 meters?

Lately we've been focusing on get the first 10 meters out of the way with as few steps as possible and making sure transition to an up tall position.

8. Considering your talents at the shorter sprinting events, have you ever considered moving up to the 400 meters and do you incorporate any of the long sprints into your workouts during the season?

No! Thank God I'm an experiment that's working out so far. 250 meters is as far as I go and I'm not really interested in going any farther.

9. Do you think there will ever be a female to break 10.50 in the 100 meters again?

Sooner than you think. I like to say there's something in the water but there is definitely something whether it is technology and expertise, a special mix of athletic genes or the foods we are eating but my generation and those that follow are jumping farther running faster and throwing farther and I don't believe that it is drugs.
