Fort Defiance boys simply shattered the 4x800 meter relay state meet record with their 7:53.54. A fitting last race for the four Indians, who will all depart ways next year. Harrisonburg\'s Tim Beierle was not far off a meet record in the pole vault with a 14\'9\" clearance. Courtland girls rolled to victory by nearly a 25 point margin with Sha\'Tia Hart winning the long jump (18\'1.50\") and triple jump (37\'11.25\"). AA\'s other superstar in Natalie Baird of Park View proved her 157\'7\" at the Region II Meet in the discus was no fluke by setting a new state meet record of 152\'5\" in the event, while also winning a surprise state title in her weaker throws event in the shot put at 42\'8\". More to come from Harrisonburg.
