The Lebanon boys and sophomore John Ulrich (pictured right by Dee Perry) won out in an early season Group A battle at Run fer da Hills this past weekend with pre-season Group A #1 ranked Radford and their sophomore star Walker Mogen. Urlcich, who placed third in the 3200 at the Group A State Outdoor Championships last spring as a freshmen, won the race individually in a time of 16:59 joining a short list of runners who have ran under 17 minutes on the Holston Dam 5K course.
The Lebanon boys, who move to a #2 ranking this week behind defending state champions Clarke County, finished second overall and 71 points ahead of a fifth place Radford squad. Ulrich leaps to the top of the individual rankings with strong opening win in Bristol, Tennessee. Very minor changes this week in the rankings for the Group A girls.
