The 2A Region 4 Championship began it's two day format with some very impressive 3,200m runs.

Bolles sophomore Charles Hicks picked up right where he left off after a stellar cross country season where he was 2A runner-up and a Foot Locker National finalist. Hicks opened up his 2017 season at the David Oliver Classic where he ran a state leading 3,200m time of 9:33.21.  On the sprint side, no surprise that Tyrese Cooper leads three categories the 55m, 300m, and 500m. We take a look at the boys indoor leaderboard.

FSU signee Caleb Pottorff is the defending 2A state champion at 3,200m and comes into 2017 with the fastest time of any returner. His 9:11.85 at the Arcadia Invitational makes him a top contender to repeat , but he's in a loaded classification that includes five of the top ten. We take a look at the 100 best 3,200m marks heading into the spring.

We continue our 2016 All Flrunners.com Cross Country Team with our boys second team. This includes 1A state champion Gabriel Curtis of Mt. Dora Christian Academy and 4A state champion Matt Doyle of Winter Springs.

With the cross country season over for all but a handful of runners we delve into our database to see the top 5,000 boys 5k times which includes Frostproof junior Antonio Gomez and 30 other runners under 16 minutes for the 2016 season.

Florida's top individual athletes are in Charlotte, North Carolina the site of the Foot Locker South Regional. The top ten girls and boys finishers in the championship races will earn a ticket the national meet December 10th in sunny San Diego California. We take a look at who has the best shot to move on from the Sunshine State.

The 20th FACA Senior All-Star Classic will take place this weekend in Tallahassee at Apalachee Regional Park. Two weeks after the Cross Country Finals, the class of 2017 will have one last race in the state of Florida and another chance to drop their personal bests. John Cacciatore of Satellite owns the fastest time in the field with his 15:36.00 and hopes to place his East squad, which contains two fellow Scorpions, to victory. See how our virtual meets predict this one playing out.

As part of our Saucony Flo 50 rankings series, we take a look at the top 25 boys and girls individuals as well as the top 25 boys and girls teams and rank them. Here are the top boys individuals after the cross country state championship.

Lincoln Park Academy senior Caleb Pottorff wanted nothing more than to get a state title in cross country after finishing 2nd in 2015. Pottorff edged out Charles Hicks of Bolles in the second fastest time EVER during the Cross Country Finals at Apalachee Regional Park, 15:08.12. His time which was only behind Sukhi Khosla's 15:01.80 from 2014 was the fastest by any senior and any athlete regardless of grade. Take a look at the top times by boys from the class of 2017.

The 2A boys race was the first boys race of the 2016 Cross Country Finals and also the fastest. FSU commitment Caleb Pottorff, the 2015 runner-up, battled it out with Charles Hicks of Bolles for 5,000 meters to produce the top two times regardless of class in 15:08.12 and 15:09.13 with third place finisher Trent Mandato's 15:28.29 the third fastest. We merged the results of all four classifications to find out the fastest 500 boys times and who won the week.

The fastest district of them all seemed to come from Mills Pond Park as the Pine Crest girls dominated the field at 2A-15. Freshman Tsion Yared ran 18:00.03 for the district title and first of her running career. On the boy's side Charles Hicks of Bolles continued his sophomore season by capturing the 2A District 4 crown in 15:53.99, joining John Cacciatore (15:57.10) and Trevor Foley (15:59.34) as the only three under 16 minutes. We take a look at the top 500 times state wide for class 2A to see who won the week.

Joshua Wagner of Lely scored two wins in the same week by taking both the Collier County Athletic Conference Championship as well as the Lely Invitational title. Wagner's time at CCAC of 16:09.30 was the 10th best this week. We merged EVERY result from across the state to find out the 500 best times and who won the week. 

Creekside's Matthew Clark, a UF commitment. one upped fellow senior Caleb Pottorff by posting a state leading time of 15:14.40 at Great American just moments after Pottorff's 15:30.11 to win the flrunners.com Invitational. A total of eight boys from the class of 2017 have run under 16 minutes this season. We rank the top 500 times by senior boys this season.

It's only fitting that Matthew Clark won the Alligator Lake Invitational. A week after committing to the University of Florida, the Creekside senior ran 15:51.35 for the win. His time was second only behind Caleb Pottorff who had the fastest time of any classification at the Spanish River Invitational with his 15:43.06 mark.
