2012 Region III Cross Country Championships
MEET DATE: Thursday, November 1st, 2012
LOCATION: Burtner Farm/Peak View Elementary School, Lawyer Road, Penn Laird, VA
PRACTICE DATES: The course is open daily, following the end of PVES school day.
NOTE: No coaches or athletes will be permitted in PVES building on practice dates. On these dates, porta-potties available by the white barn on farm property.
RACE-DAY SCHEDULE: Course open to busses/teams 3:30
Girls Championship Race 4:44
Boys Championship Race 5:22
Awards presentation 6:06
FORMAT: Each school is permitted 10 entries; only 7 may compete.
AWARDS: Girls and boys team champion/runner-up trophies will be awarded; All-Region medals will be awarded to the top 15 finishers in each race The top 4 teams and top 15 individuals in each race will advance to the State AA championship meet on Nov 10, 2012 at Great Meadow, The Plains, VA
ENTRIES: Entries and alternates must be submitted on the attached official VHSL Region entry form (which can also be downloaded at http://www.vhsl.org/forms/forms_entry_forms). The form must be completed electronically and submitted as an e-mail attachment to David Loughran (dloughran@harrisonburg.k12.va.us)
DEADLINE: Complete entry forms (including grade level of each entrant) must be received no later than midnight on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
SPECTATOR ADMISSION: Will be $5.00.
T-SHIRTS: Will be available for sale on site.

Directions to Burtner Farm Cross Country Course
1. 81 North to exit 247A, towards Elkton (Rt. 33E)
2. Take 33 East about 5-7 miles to Lawyer Rd.
Lawyer Road is marked by an Exxon on one side of the road, and a 7-11 on the other. If you reach Spotswood HS on 33 E, you have gone to far.
3. Take Lawyer Rd .5 miles to Peak View Elementary School
Follow parking marshals instructions when you reach the school.
