Meet Information
The 1st Annual Jefferson Cup Foot Race will be held on Tuesday, August 20th, 2013, at Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest. This will be an early season scrimmage to open up the season! to Come join us on the historical grounds of Thomas Jefferson's retreat home to open up your season! 10% off all tours of the home and grounds have been graciously offered to families of participants taking part in this event by the staff at Poplar Forest. The entry fee is $75.00 per school or $40.00 per team. Individual runners (less than 5 per team) will be $10.00 per runner. The Open Race is $10.00 per runner and is open to anyone wishing to compete. Coaches can compete for free. You can register on-line, and send your checks addressed to PACERS 8507 Village Hwy Concord, VA 24538 or you can bring it the day of the meet.
Make checks payable to Patriot Pacers and please write on the memo line of the check that it is for the Jefferson Cup Foot Race. There will be t-shirts and concessions for sale at the meet.

GPS Location- 687 Poplar Forest Drive
From Downtown Lynchburg
From 12th Street, take a right on Main Street. Turn right to merge onto the Lynchburg Expressway 29-Business South. Take Exit 11 for Graves Mill Road. Turn left onto Graves Mill Road. Turn left onto Forest Road. Go approximately 2.7 miles and turn left onto Thomas Jefferson Road/Route 811. Proceed for 1 mile and turn left onto Bateman Bridge Road/Route 661. Take first right onto Cameron Drive. Follow Cameron to Ramblewood Road and turn right. Take the 5th left entrance onto Foxhall Drive. Proceed .4 miles to the Poplar Forest Service Entrance. Proceed up the gravel drive to the parking lot on the left.
From D.C. and Charlottesville
Take 29 South toward Lynchburg. After passing the intersection of 29 and 60 at Amherst, continue straight on 29 South (sign will say toward Lynchburg/Danville). At this point you will be on the newly opened bypass around Lynchburg. Continue on 29 South approximately 11 miles. After you cross the James River, exit onto 460 West toward Lynchburg / Roanoke. Remain on 460 West for approximately 14 miles, to a stoplight at the intersection with Route 811. (You will be passing all the Lynchburg exits as you drive this stretch of 460. Shortly before reaching the 811 intersection you will pass the New London Academy, on your right. Turn right onto 811 (Thomas Jefferson Road). After +/- 3.7 miles turn right onto Rt. 622 (Waterlick Road) and proceed .7 miles to Bannister Road on your left. Turn left onto Bannister and proceed to the stop sign. Turn right onto Ramblewood Road. Proceed to the 2nd left at Foxhall Drive. Turn left onto Foxhall Drive and proceed approximately .4 miles. The Poplar Forest Service Entrance will be on the left. Follow the gravel driveway to the parking area.
From Roanoke
Take Route 460 east for approximately 40 miles. At Route 811 (Thomas Jefferson Road) turn left at light and proceed for 3.8 miles to Route 622 (Waterlick Road). Turn right onto Waterlick Rd. and proceed .7 miles to Bannister Rd. on your left. Turn left onto Bannister and proceed to the stop sign. Turn right onto Ramblewood Road. Proceed to the 2nd left, which is Foxhall Drive. Turn left onto Foxhall Drive and proceed approximately .4 mile. The Poplar Forest Service Entrance will be on the left. Follow the gravel driveway to the parking area.
