Path to the State Meet: Freddie Shashaty (James River) Nov 13, 2013

Our Path to the State Meet series focuses on a random selection of individual qualifiers and their seasons and path leading up to qualifying to compete at this weekend's VHSL State Championships. James River junior Freddie Shashaty qualified for the state meet with a 11th place finish of 16:42 at Bells Mill Park in the 6A South Regional Meet.

First race of the season for senior Nikki Park after missing the entire season before due to injury and she showed a remarkable level of fitness coming back from her season-long obstacle in a runner-up individual finish to help lead the Ocean Lakes girls to a dominant team victory at the 6A South Regional. Her return certainly bolsters the lineup for Ocean Lakes to the point that they have to be considered a strong contender for a top 3 state meet finish next Friday in the Group 6A race at Great Meadow.
