Buffalo Gap senior Angela Jenkins will look to carry her squad to a third consecutive Group A State team championship at Radford University this Saturday. Jenkins will also be looking to add to her vast collection of individual titles that now stands at five. Jenkins\' dominance has extended beyond the small schools of Group A over the past years to the entire state level as she has been of the state\'s best long and triple jumpers as shown by her numerous All-American honors and a AAU National Junior Olympics age-group national championship. With personal best marks of 19\'4.75\" in the long jump and 40\'2.75\" in the triple jumps, the West Point bound senior has made a case for herself as one of the best jumpers to ever come out of Group A and finding herself ranked often atop the state leaderboard in those events has given her a firm standing among all Virginians. Performance list for the 2006 VHSL Group A State Meet to be held this Saturday, June 3rd at Radford University in Radford, Virginia
Time schedules for all the VHSL State Outdoor Track and Field Championships this upcoming weekend with the AAA State Meet at Todd Stadium in Newport News, AA State Meet at Harrisonburg High School in Harrisonburg, and A State Meet at Radford University in Radford.
Scoring of all three VHSL State Outdoor Track and Field Championships this upcoming weekend based off the performance lists. Scoring is eight places deep. There were a few mistakes in the performance lists that affect the list to some degree. Injuries and fatique will also play a role during the actual meet versus how the meet looks on paper going. Tiebreaker points were created for relays and individuals that shared the same time or mark (For example, two top seeds who have both cleared 6-8 in the high jump, each get 9.5 points versus 10 to first and 8 to second place in the regular meet setting).

The Clarke County boys and Buffalo Gap girls were state team champions, while Middlesex boys and Clarke County girls were state runners-up. Top performances included a 6-10 high jump from Gretna\'s Maurice Hall, 11.94 posted by Rasheeta Hundley of West Point in the 100 meter dash, 5:05 1600 and 11:17 3200 double from Kelly Clark of Glenvar, and three state championships by Gate City\'s Ashton Bishop in the 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, and high jump. Hall\'s high jump tied the state leading height in the even with Marlon Woods of AAA\'s Booker T. Washington and Hundley\'s time was faster than the winning time at the AAA State Meet. Goochland sophomore D.J. Coles led three other sprinters under 11 seconds in the 100 meter dash with a 10.74 clocking. Radford sophomore Nathan Brame broke up a Clarke County sweep of the distance events with a 4:24.83 win in the 3200 meter run. More to come from Radford.
