2014 CONFERENCE 11 & 20 OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

I. DATES: THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, May 22 & 23, 2014

II. PLACE: Atlee High School

III. FACILITIES: 400 Meter, 8 lane, all-weather track. Concrete shot and discus throwing surfaces.
all-weather surfaces on LJ/TJ , PV runways and HJ surface. All-weather spikes of
1/4 or less and flats may be used on the all-weather surfaces. Locker rooms are not
available. Athletes should come dressed to compete. Restrooms will be open in the stadium.

IV. ADMISSION: $6.00 each day. VHSCA, VIAAA & VHSL PRINCIPALS AND HONORED GUEST PASSES will be
accepted. DISTRICT & FACULTY passes and WILL NOT be accepted. Entrance at ticket booth.

ATHLETES: Athletes will be admitted free at the Road Gate entrance to the stadium. Athletes will be admitted by
uniform. Athletes not in uniform will have to pay admission in order to enter the stadium. Athletes will not
be admitted through the ticket gate.

V. EQUIPMENT: Meet management will furnish starting blocks. All other equipment, team or personal
must be furnished by the competing schools. UNIFORM & JEWELRY RULES WILL BE
ENFORCED.

VI. UNIFORM: Athletes are required to wear the official school uniform. Competitor numbers and hip numbers, if furnished
must be worn.

VII. RULES: 2014 EDITION OF NATIONAL FEDERATION OF STATE HIGH SCHOOLS TRACK & FIELD
RULES AND VHSL RULES.

VIII. SCORING: 10 - 8 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

X. MVP BALLOTS MVP BALLOTS WILL BE PROVIDED AND MUST BE RETURNED FOLLOWING THE
& COACH OF CONCLUSION FOR THE 4 X 400 M RELAYS
THE YEAR

XI. ENTRY Each school may list a maximum of three (3) entries for each individual event, unless all entries listed for
LIMITATIONS that event have met the conference meet qualifying standard for that event, in which case all qualified
Athletes may be listed. Each school is allowed only one (1) relay team per relay event. NO ENTRY WILL
BE ACCEPTED THAT HAS NOT COMPETED IN THEIR EVENT OR AN EVENT THAT
QUALIFIES FOR THEIR EVENT IN A BONAFIDE MEET DURING THE CURRENT OUTDOOR
SEASON.

XII. ENTRY FORMS: OFFICIAL CONFERENCE ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ON LINE VIA THE MILESTAT
ENTRY SYSTEM NO LATER THAN 11:59 PM, SUNDAY, MAY 18, 2014. ONLY
PERFORMANCES VERIFIED BY THE MILESTAT DATA BASE FOR THE CURRENT
OUTDOOR SEASON WILL BE ALLOWED FOR ENTRY. Please use the Relay Names to enter a
maximum of 8 athletes who might run each relay so they appear on your team roster. Athletes who do not
appear on the team roster will not be eligible for the relay teams.

XIII. ENTRY YOU MAY EDIT YOUR ON LINE ENTRIES AT ANY TIME UP UNTIL 11:59 PM
DEADLINE: ON SUNDAY, MAY 18, 2014.

XIV. RELAY Relay teams will be declared on a relay card provided at the meet at the time of event check-in.
DECLARATION: Six (6) athletes may be listed any four (4) of whom may run. The relay will count as an event
only for those four (4) athletes who actually compete. ALL RELAY RUNNERS AND
ALTERNATES MUST BE LISTED ON YOUR ON-LINE ENTRY. Note that the only way to
enter an athlete who is only going to be used as a relay runner is to list them in one of the 8
slots allowed for each relay. DO NOT ENTER MORE THAN EIGHT (8) NAMES FOR ANY ONE
RELAY.

XV. WEIGH-IN: The Boys Discus, Girls Shot Put, and Boys Pole Vault weigh-in will take place on Thursday, May 22
at 2:45 pm. The Girls Discus, Boys Shot Put and Girls Pole Vault weigh-in will take place on Friday,
May 23 at 2:45 PM all near the trailers. All implements not meeting specifications will be impounded until
the end of the meet. Only those implements properly inspected and so marked may be used at the meet.

XVI. COACHES Monday, May 19, 2014 Atlee High School Library at 7:00 PM. Each competing school MUST have
MEETING: a representative present. All entries in seeded or sectioned running events declared at this meeting will
count towards the maximum number of events allowed. Starting heights and progressions will be determined
at this meeting. Enter the building through the doors leading to the Commons. This area is near the
Greenhouse. The library is located on the other side of the Commons.

XVII. SECTORS The SHOT and DISCUS SECTORS at Atlee Stadium will be 34.92 degrees.

XVIII REGIONAL INDIVIDUALS PLACING IN THE TOP 6 AND RELAY TEAMS PLACING IN THE TOP 6
MEET IN THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET AND THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND RELAY
ADVANCEMENT: TEAMS HAVING MET THE REGIONAL MEET STANDARDS IN REGULAR SEASON MEETS
OF 4 OR MORE TEAMS MAY ADVANCE TO THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET.

XIX. CONFERENCE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET T-SHIRTS WILL BE ON SALE AT THE
T-SHIRTS CHAMPIONSHIP MEET. PLEASE INFORM ALL PARTICIPANTS

XX. RADIOS, CD NO RADIOS, BOOM BOXES, ETC. WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE STADIUM. INDIVIDUAL
PLAYERS WALKMEN & TAPE WITH EARPHONES THAT CAN ONLY BE HEARD BY THE INDIVIDUALS
WEARING THEM WILL BE ALLOWED, BUT NOT IN THE COMPETITION AREA.. THE
COMPETITION AREA IS ANYTHING INSIDE THE FENCE SURROUNDING THE TRACK AND
SHOT PUT SECTORS.

XXI. TEAM CAMPS THERE IS A GRASS AREA ACROSS THE DRIVE FROM THE STADIUM. TEAMS MAY SET UP
CAMPS IN THAT AREA. THE CONCESSION STAND AND RESTROOMS WILL BE OPEN IN THE
BASEBALL COMPLEX FOR ATHLETES TO USE IF THEY WISH. WE ASK THAT EVERYONE
STAY OFF OF THE BASEBALL & SOFTBALL GAME FIELDS. SIGNS WILL BE POSTED.

XXII. PARKING THERE IS A PARKING LOT AT THE STADIUM. WE ASK THAT BUSES DROP OFF THEIR
ATHLETES, BUT THEN PARK UP IN THE FRONT LOT TO ALLOW MORE ROOM FOR
SPECTATORS TO PARK. WE HAVE MULTIPLE LOTS AVAILABLE FOR PARKING AND WE
WILL HAVE BOTH ROAD GATES OPEN FOR TRAFFIC.

XXIII. IMPORTANT ENTRY REMINDERS : PLEASE FOLLOW CAREFULLY!

1. ALL CONFERENCE ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ON LINE via the milestat entry system

2. YOU MAY EDIT YOUR ON-LINE ENTRIES AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO 11:59 PM ON SUNDAY, MAY 18.

3. ALL ATHLETES INCLUDING ANY POSSIBLE RELAY ALTERNATES MUST BE ENTERED ON-LINE. DO NOT ENTER MORE THAN EIGHT (8) ATHLETES FOR ANY ONE RELAY ON THE MILESTAT ENTRY PLEASE USE THESE SLOTS TO ENTER ALL ATHLETES WHO MAY BE USED ON ANY OF YOUR RELAY TEAMS AND ARE NOT ENTERED IN ANY INDIVIDUAL EVENT AT THE MEET. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE ANY ATHLETE ENTERED IN ANY EVENT ON YOUR ON-LINE ENTRY ROSTER ON YOUR RELAY TEAMS SO LONG AS IT DOES NOT PUT THEM OVER THE NUMBER OF ALLOWABLE RUNNING EVENTS.
