2014 5A SOUTH REGIONAL OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

I. DATES: FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, May 30 & 31, 2014

II. PLACE: Atlee High School

III. FACILITIES: 400 Meter, 8 lane, all-weather track. Concrete shot and discus throwing surfaces.
all-weather surfaces on LJ/TJ , PV runways and HJ surface. All-weather spikes of
1/4" or less and flats may be used on the all-weather surfaces. Locker rooms are not
available. Athletes should come dressed to run. Restrooms will be open in the stadium.

IV. ADMISSION: $8.00 each day. VHSCA, VIAAA & VHSL PRINCIPAL'S AND HONORED GUEST PASSES will be
accepted. DISTRICT & FACULTY passes and WILL NOT be accepted. Entrance at ticket booth.

ATHLETES: Athletes will be admitted free at the "Road Gate" entrance to the stadium. Athletes will be admitted by
uniform. Athletes not in uniform will have to pay admission in order to enter the stadium. Athletes will not
be admitted through the ticket gate.

V. EQUIPMENT: Meet management will furnish starting blocks. All other equipment, team or personal
must be furnished by the competing schools. UNIFORM & JEWELRY RULES WILL BE
ENFORCED.

VI. RULES: 2014 EDITION OF NATIONAL FEDERATION OF STATE HIGH SCHOOLS TRACK & FIELD
RULES AND VHSL RULES.

VII. SCORING: 10 - 8 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

IX. MVP BALLOTS MVP BALLOTS WILL BE PROVIDED AND MUST BE RETURNED FOLLOWING THE
CONCLUSION FOR THE 4 X 400 M RELAYS

X. ENTRY REGIONAL ENTRIES FOR ALL OPEN & RELAY EVENTS ARE LIMITED TO THE TOP 6
LIMITATIONS FINISHERS IN EACH CONFERENCE MEET PLUS THOSE THAT HAVE MET THE 2014 REGIONAL
EVENT STANDARD.

XI. ENTRY FORMS: OFFICIAL REGIONAL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ON LINE VIA THE MILESTAT ENTRY
SYSTEM NO LATER THAN 11:59 PM, SUNDAY, MAY 25, 2014. ENTRY PERFORMANCES
MUST BE THE BETTER OF THEIR CONFERENCE PERFORMANCE (TRIAL OR FINAL) OR A
VERIFIED REGIONAL QUALIFYING PERFORMANCE FROM A 2014 OUTDOOR SEASON
MEET OF FOUR (4) OR MORE TEAMS.

XII. ENTRY YOU MAY EDIT YOUR ON LINE ENTRIES AT ANY TIME UP UNTIL 11:59 PM
DEADLINE: ON SUNDAY, MAY 25, 2014.
YOUR ENTRIES AS OF THIS DEADLINE WILL BE CONSIDERED FINAL AND DECLARED.

XIII. DECLARATION ALL ENTRIES RUNNING EVENTS AT THE DEADLINE ON SUNDAY WILL BE
RULE: CONFIRMED AS ENTERED. AND WILL COUNT AGAINST THE ATHLETE'S MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE EVENTS WHETHER THEY CONTEST THEM OR NOT.

XIV. RELAY Relay teams will be declared on a relay card provided at the meet at the time of event check-in.
DECLARATION: Six (6) athletes may be listed any four (4) of whom may run. The relay will count as an event
only for those four (4) athletes who actually compete. ALL RELAY RUNNERS AND
ALTERNATES MUST BE LISTED ON YOUR ON-LINE ENTRY. Note that the only way to
enter an athlete who is only going to be used as a relay runner is to list them in one of the 8
slots allowed for each relay. DO NOT ENTER MORE THAN EIGHT (8) NAMES FOR ANY ONE
RELAY.

XV. WEIGH-IN: The Girl's Boy's discus weigh-in will take place on Friday, May 30 at 2:00 pm. The Girl's & Boy's Shot and
Pole Vault weigh-in will take place Saturday, May 31 at 8:30 AM all near the trailers. All
implements not meeting specifications will be impounded until the end of the meet. Only those implements
properly inspected and so marked may be used at the meet.

XVI. SECTORS The SHOT and DISCUS SECTORS at Atlee Stadium will be 34.92 degrees.

XVII. STARTING HTS WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE GAMES COMMITTEE ON MONDAY NIGHT, AT A MEETING AT
& PROGRESSIONS ATLEE HIGH SCHOOL. THE GAMES COMMITTEE WILL CONSIST OF EACH CONFERENCE
MEET DIRECTOR. ANYONE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND MY CALL THE MEET DIRECTOR ON
MONDAY TO VOICE THEIR OPINION.

XVIII STATE MEET INDIVIDUALS PLACING IN THE TOP 6 AND RELAY TEAMS PLACING IN THE TOP 6
QUALIFYING: IN THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET AND THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND RELAY
TEAMS HAVING MET THE STATE MEET STANDARDS WILL QUALIFY FOR THE
STATE AAA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET. ONE (1) COPY OF YOUR STATE MEET ENTRY
FORM ALONG WITH ANY STATE VERIFICATION FORMS MUST BE FILED WITH THE
REGIONAL MEET DIRECTOR BEFORE LEAVING THE REGIONAL MEET.

XIX. REGIONAL SPECIAL REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET T-SHIRTS WILL BE ON SALE AT THE
T-SHIRTS CHAMPIONSHIP MEET. PLEASE INFORM ALL PARTICIPANTS

XX. RADIOS, CD NO RADIOS, BOOM BOXES, ETC. WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE STADIUM. INDIVIDUAL
PLAYERS WALKMEN & TAPE WITH EARPHONES THAT CAN ONLY BE HEARD BY THE INDIVIDUALS
WEARING THEM WILL BE ALLOWED, BUT NOT IN THE COMPETITION AREA.. THE
COMPETITION AREA IS ANYTHING INSIDE THE FENCE SURROUNDING THE TRACK AND
SHOT PUT SECTORS.

XXI. TEAM CAMPS THERE IS A GRASS AREA ACROSS THE DRIVE FROM THE STADIUM. TEAMS MAY SET UP
CAMPS IN THAT AREA. THE CONCESSION STAND AND RESTROOMS WILL BE OPEN IN THE
BASEBALL COMPLEX FOR ATHLETES TO USE IF THEY WISH. WE ASK THAT EVERYONE
STAYS OFF OF THE BASEBALL & SOFTBALL GAME FIELDS. SIGNS WILL BE POSTED.

XXIII. PARKING THERE IS A PARKING LOT AT THE STADIUM. WE ASK THAT BUSES DROP OFF THEIR
ATHLETES, BUT THEN PARK UP IN THE FRONT LOT TO ALLOW MORE ROOM FOR
SPECTATORS TO PARK. WE HAVE MULTIPLE LOTS AVAILABLE FOR PARKING AND WE
WILL HAVE BOTH ROAD GATES OPEN FOR TRAFFIC.

XXII. IMPORTANT ENTRY REMINDERS : PLEASE FOLLOW CAREFULLY!

1. ALL REGIONAL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ON LINE via the milestat entry system

2. YOU MAY EDIT YOUR ON-LINE ENTRIES AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO 11:59 PM ON SUNDAY, MAY 25. AT THAT TIME ALL ON-LINE ENTRIES WILL BE CONSIDERED FINAL AND DECLARED AND WILL COUNT AGAINST THE ATHLETE'S MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE EVENTS.

3. ALL ATHLETES INCLUDING ANY POSSIBLE RELAY ALTERNATES MUST BE ENTERED ON-LINE. DO NOT ENTER MORE THAN EIGHT (8) ATHLETES FOR ANY ONE RELAY ON THE MILESTAT ENTRY PLEASE USE THESE SLOTS TO ENTER ALL ATHLETES WHO MAY BE USED ON ANY OF YOUR RELAY TEAMS AND ARE NOT ENTERED IN ANY INDIVIDUAL EVENT AT THE MEET. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE ANY ATHLETE ENTERED IN ANY EVENT ON YOUR ON-LINE ENTRY ROSTER ON YOUR RELAY TEAMS SO LONG AS IT DOES NOT PUT THEM OVER THE NUMBER OF ALLOWABLE RUNNING EVENTS.

4. USE ONLY THE BEST CONFERENCE PERFORMANCE (TRIAL OR FINAL) OR A REGIONAL QUALIFYING PERFORMANCE WITH VERIFICATION FORM ATTACHED FOR EACH ENTRY.
