3A West Regional XC Championships
Monday preview - if teams are in the area and want to check out the course you can come after 3pm. The course will be open 3:15-6pm on Monday. Football practice will occupy the start/ finish area but the rest of the course will be open. Team tents may also be set up in the tent area, however we do get a lot of wind so make sure to anchor your tents well.
TUESDAY:
Course opens at noon
Coaches meeting: 1:40pm at the finish line
Girls Championship: 2:00pm
Boys Championship: 3:00pm
Alternates Optional Race: 3:25pm
Awards: 3:50pm

The top six teams advance to the State Championships to be run on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at Great Meadow, The Plains, Virginia. The top ten individuals not on advancing teams will also advance to the state meet.
Team championship trophies for the first and second place teams. Certificates for runners placing 1st through 15th. Awards will take place by the concessions area. If raining they will take place in the High School gym or auditorium.
Concessions and long sleeve technical shirts will be on sale for only $20!
You are allowed to enter ten runners but only can race seven in the championship race.
At 3:25pm will be an optional alternate race where you can run both boys and girls alternates. They must wear school uniform. You can run up to five per gender in the alternate race. You do not need to register the extra runners if they do not have a bib. We will get their name in the chute.
Registration is through www.milestat.com. You also must get your VHSL Region entry form to Blacksburg by Thursday, October 29th by 11:59pm. Fax number is 540-951-5812. You can also email an attachment to james@runaboutsports.com or peterlyell@mcps.org
The Region Entry Form is at http://www.vhsl.org/athletics.cross-country. Milestat entry and VHSL form are both due Thursday at 11:59pm (October 30).
UNIFORM AND EQUIPMENT: Participants are required to wear a school issued uniform top and shorts. Participants must attach their bib number to the front of their uniform.
Running shoes or spikes must be worn during the competition. Participants may were one wristwatch. Sweat bands are permitted.
An athletic trainer will be at the meet (Ian Smith).
Water and Gatorade will be at the finish.
Directions: From I-81 take exit 118B. Follow the 460 bypass for about 5 miles. From 460 Bypass, take the second Prices Fork exit (away from downtown Blacksburg). Go 1.5 miles. Watch for Kipps Elementary School on your left (this building has a visible green roof). The next building is Blacksburg Middle School. The next entrance is the bus lane entrance for the high school (follow signs).The address is 3401 Bruin Lane, Blacksburg, VA 24060. Take the bus entrance into the school. Follow the road all the way down to the course. Buses will park in the bus lot, cars will park in the student lot.
Spectator parking will be to the center or right side of the lot.
Spectator cost: The region charges $3.00 per person or $5.00 per car (payable as cars/ spectators enter paved lot).
Food: If you are looking for food for the trip home, there is a Subway, Panera Bread, Kroger, and Macados among other food places at University City Blvd less than 5 minutes from the school.
Restroom facilities - The restrooms at the football stadium will be used. They are set up for 3000 people and are located 100 meters from the parking lot or 250 meters from the team tent/ start area. We will also have three emergency porta potties at the start for those who have to go at the last minute.
Official results will be available to coaches as hard copy and also posted on Milestat.com.
State Meet Entries:
*NEW* ONLINE ENTRY: ALL state meet entries this year must be done online by ALL coaches on MileStat.com. Entries will open up the start of regional week. You regional meet director/representative will be given a meet password to distribute to coaches in their respective regions to allow you access to enter the meet online. Below is the meet page where the entries will be done at starting on Monday, November 4th:

Click on the green Enter Online button once entries open during regional week (will stay closed until that time) to start entry process. Must be a team admin of your team page on MileStat.com in order to enter. Do not wait until end of season to become a team admin. Make sure all your athletes names and graduation years are correct on your MileStat.com roster before entering.
When entering the state meet online, make sure that you enter only in your classification's races for both boys and/or girls (event 5K) and then select/enter all athletes that qualified individually or as a team and your additional alternates if a team qualifier (only allowed to enter a max of 10 athletes/gender for team qualifiers - room for only 3 alternates). Click the save button at the bottom of that event entry page after you have selected all of your athletes competing/alternates. Teams with only individual qualifiers should be only entering those individuals who qualified, no additional athletes.
