Where: Pole Green Park, 8996 Pole Green Park Lane, Mechanicsville, VA 23116
When: Thursday, October 29, 2015
Time: 2:30PM Coaches Meeting, 3:00PM Girls Race, 3:45PM Boys Race, 4:30PM Award Presentation
Entry forms: All entries should be received by Kenneth J. Perrault, Jr Meet Director at Varina HS no later than 4:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2015. A VHSL entry form must be entered in www.milestat.com. Each team may enter 10 athletes (7 Runners + 3 Alternates) to choose their 7 participants from. Athletes not on the Entry Roster will not be eligible for the meet.
Course: 5000 Meters (3.1 miles), mostly grass. Flats or short spikes are recommended. The course is a spectator friendly course. A map of the course is attached. The course will be well marked and easy to follow. Teams and individuals are encouraged to tour the course before the day of the meet. THE COURSE WILL BE CLOSED AT 2:30 PM ON RACE DAY AND NO FURTHER TOURING WILL BE ALLOWED.
Numbers: All participants will wear numbers on the front of their singlet. The numbers along with pins and other official materials will be distributed to coaches at the scorer's table at 2:00PM.
Finish: As the runners cross the finish line, numbers will be given to contestants at the end of chute. Coaches are instructed to collect numbers, total lowest five (5) on tally sheet and return all cards and the tally sheet to scorers table.
Awards: Trophy to team champion and team runner-up will be presented.
Award Presentation of awards will take place as soon as official meet results are available.
Qualification: The top four teams in each race (boys and girls) will qualify for the 5A South Regional Meet, plus For Regional: the top 10 individuals not on the top 4 teams from each race (boys and girls) will qualify for the Regional Meet.
All Conference team: The top 15 finishers in each of the Varsity Championship races (boys and girls) shall earn All Conference Cross Country Team Honors for 2015.
Coach of the Year: The coach receiving the most votes by ballot will be the 5A Conference 12 Coach of the Year. Please return all ballots to the Scorer Tent.
Directions: Pole Green Park is located on Pole Green Road about 3 miles from the intersection of Pole Green Road, and I-295. Upon entering the park, stay on the main road past Pole Green Elementary School to the rear of the park. The course is just past the Skate Park and softball fields.
Parking: Parking will be available on the fields adjacent to the course.
