Dear Coach:
We are excited to announce the 2016 W&M Cross Country Invitational to be held on September 16-17, 2016. The meet will take place over two days with the College events on Friday night and the high school events on Saturday morning. Last year we had a great turnout from all over the state of Virginia as well as some neighboring states. We hope that you will join us for this years event and we look forward to seeing you out on the course! Below is the anticipated schedule for this years event. Please check Milestat.com or Tribeathletics.com as the meet approaches for any changes to the meet schedule.

Saturday September 17, 2016:
8:30 AM Developmental 2 mile (Boys & Girls)
9:00 AM JV Girls 5k

2015 meet information and results
Meet Information:
Entry Fee
-The entry fee for the High School meet will be $5 per athlete. For teams with 60+ athletes entered in the meet, the entry fee will be capped at $300. The college race entry fee will be $200 per gender. Unattached runners for the college races must email Matt Gutridge at cmgutridge@wm.edu for entry in the meet. Unattached runners will be charged $10. Entry fee checks should be mailed to William and Mary Track Office, PO Box 399, Williamsburg VA 23187.We will accept checks (payable to College of William and Mary Cross Country) at the meet. Please no cash. College and Unattached entries will pay online through Direct Athletics.
Intent to Compete
-Please email Matt Gutridge (cmgutridge@wm.edu) by August 29 if you plan to attend this years meet. Your intent is not binding; this will be used for sanctioning the meet.
Timing
-All races will utilize chip timing. Chips will be located on the back of race bib, so please do not bend or fold the race numbers because this may damage the chips. Race results will be posted as soon as they are available and all results will be sent to MileStat at the conclusion of the meet.
Registration
-You may run up to 8 athletes in each the "A" and the "B" race with unlimited entries in the JV race and Developmental race. We will ask you to assign your athletes to a specific race; however, you will be able to move athletes to a different race by visiting the check-in table at least 30mins prior to your team's first race. Entries for the high school race will be done on-line at www.milesplit.com and will be due Monday September 12th, 2016 by 11:59 pm. College entries will be done on-line at www.DirectAthletics.com and will be due Tuesday September 13th, 2015 by 11:59pm.
Check-in Table
-The check-in table will be located behind the starting line. This is where you will pick up your packet and make any race day changes. Please avoid going near the finish line with your chips so the timing system does not read them prior to the start of your race.
Switching Races
-You will be able to move athletes to a different race after registration ends. If you have any changes prior to Friday, please email Matt Gutridge at cmgutridge@wm.edu.
-Race day changes may be made at the check-in table, but we ask that you please try to email any changes in advance so we can limit the number of race day changes.
Liability Waiver
-Each team must have a liability waiver signed by the coach or athletic director. If you have not sent this in advance, you will be asked to sign the waiver when you pick up your packet. Sending this in advance will expedite check-in. Waiver can be found on TribeAthletics.com

Parking
-Event Staff will be assisting with parking throughout the meet. Spectators and teams will not be allowed to park in the lot near the finish line because those spots will be reserved for Event Staff.
Starting Line
-There will be no boxes or assigned positions on the starting line. The starter will organize the groups prior to the start of the race.
Awards
-There will be awards for the top team in the Varsity A and B races. JV and Developmental races will not be scored. Top ten (10) individuals in all high school races will receive a Under Armour W&M Invitational finishing T-Shirt when they cross the finish line.
Entertainment
-We will have a DJ for the high school portion of the meet. Meet T-shirts from Under Armour will be available for purchase on Saturday for $20. The DJ tent and T-shirt table will be located behind the starting line.
Medical Staff
-A trainer will not be provided for the meet, but there will be staff from James City County Fire/Rescue on site for any issues that may arise during the meet.
