Jamestown at W&M: 14:47, 15:11, 15:19, 16:14, 16:15 Photos by Tim O'Dowd Oakton ran fairly strong at the Oatlands Invitational in their team win in a huge field assembled for the varsity A division and made a case for themselves to be the #1 ranked team in Virginia, but Jamestown might have made an even strong impression with their team performance at the William & Mary Invitational. Looking at times alone could make the competition in the Southeast region shudder. Granted that the Eastern State Hospital course is not a full 5K course and has been stated as a 3.05 mile course for several years now, but even if the times ran by Jamestown's top five (14:47, 15:11, 15:19, 16:14, 16:15) were listed as three mile times, it would not matter as they ran that fast. Andrew Colley led the VA #1 ranked Eagles with the third fastest high school performances ever on the Eastern State Hospital course with a 14:47 victory. Read more for full story... The 50th annual William & Mary Invitational will be contested this weekend at Eastern State Hospital. The longest running high school cross country invitational might not be as large and competitive in past years with meets such as Oatlands and Maymont growing to fields of 100 plus schools, but the meet still has a large gathering and will feature some of the state's better runners and teams including matchups of VA #1 Jamestown and VA #9 Western Branch as well as VA #4 Andrew Colley and VA #8 Bobby Peavey.
