ARE DUE NO LATER THAN Sunday JANUARY, 21st at 9 PM NO EXCEPTIONS.
EVERY ENTRY MUST HAVE A LEGITIMATE PERFORMANCE LISTED,EXCEPT FOR: POLE
VAULT, LONG JUMP, AND TRIPLE JUMP
Each school may enter 3 individuals in each event. However, a school may enter more than 3 individuals in an event
providing ALL individuals entered in that event meet the District Standard. All running and shot put and high jump entries must be verified.
Times obtained on an outdoor (400m) track will be accepted
Patriot District Meet will allow entries with no height in the pole vault and no distance in the long jump
and triple jump
DETERMINATIONOF DISTRICT CHAMPIONS
The tournament winner will be declaredthe District Champion.
AWARDS:Medals to top 3 individuals, plaques to
team champion and runner-up Individual medals will be given to coaches at the
conclusion of the meet. Team awards will be presented as soon as all results
have been tabulated.
ADMISSION: General Admission: $6.00 for
Adults/$5.00 for students with an ID
Complimentary:
Tickets accepted only from those schools competing.Schools participating may issue complimentary
tickets to faculty and staff.
Passes: VHSL, Regional Administrative, and working PRESS passes will be honored.Coaches' families may use passes.
GENERAL:See attached information sheet proposal and standards.Meet will be run at PG Sportsplex in
cooperation with the Liberty and Concorde Districts.
The Tournament Director and Meet Referee reserve the right to place anathlete, regardless of entry time, into an appropriate heat/flightbasedupon skill-performance level.
SCRATCHPROCESS: We will have a SCRATCH MEETING ON TUESDAY JANUARY 23rd 6:30
pm ROBINSON SECONDARY SCHOOL.YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING ALL MEET RESULTS AS YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF PERFORMANCE FOR EACH ENTRY
SCRATCHES: Anyscratches in any seeded or sectioned event following the coaches' scratchdeadline date will not disqualify an athlete from all subsequent runningevents, but will count against the athletes 3 event running total.When a contestant who has qualified in apreliminary withdraws from competition, no substitute will be allowed.If an athlete is excused from an event by theathletic trainer or physician appointed by the games committee, that athletewill be eligible for any and all other events if later cleared by same.No event in the meet is to be held up becausea participant is engaged in another event.
If a contestant is entered in a field event in which he is entered, he/she shall make advance arrangements with the official in charge to completehis/her trials after the track event.NO TRACK EVENT WILL BE HELD UP BECAUSE OF A FIELD EVENT.
EQUIPMENT:Each school will furnish its own batons, shot, discus, and vaulting poles.Starting blocks will be provided.
RULES:2017 Edition National Federation rule Book and the 2017-18 edition of the VHSL Handbook.
NOTE: Theone minute rule will apply in all Field Events.
SCORING: 10-8-6-4-2-1
CALL FOREVENTS:First call--15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of eventSecond call--10
minutes prior.Third call--5minutes prior.
Athletes should
report at First Call.In events run by heats, all starters must report to the clerk at the check-in area before the
first heat is run.Failure to report at the time will result in a scratch.Eachindividual declared for participation will have that event count against theirevent total, regardless of whether or not they compete in the event.
INDIVIDUALPARTICIPATION:
In one meet, a contestant may compete in any number of field events, but shall be limited to participation in only three running events.If one of the running events is the 3200 meter, an athlete may only run in one other event on the same day the 3200 on the day the 3200 is contested.
UNIFORMS: Team members shall wear the schooluniform.A competitor must be in theproper track uniform and wearing his contestant number before he/she will bepermitted to compete.Numbers, when wornshall be attached to the front of the shirt for all events.
CONTROL OF THE FIELD:Each coach is asked to keep his/her squadin the stands, off the track, and out of the infield, except when an individualis competing or warming-up.The onlypeople allowed on the infield are those with identification tags indicating anofficialcapacity in the meet andcoaches in appropriately identified coaching areas or boxes.All others may be disqualified.
REGION ENTRY / PERFORMANCE:
Coaches are to enter athletes advancing to the VHSL Group 6A Region C by virtue of their Conference meets performancewith the athlete's best legitimate performance of the season for seeding purposes. The top 6 individuals and top 3 relays in each event will qualify for the Region Championship.Athletes advancing to the VHSL Group 6A Region C by virtue of a qualifying mark must submit a proof of performance (POP) form (see VHSL website atwww.vhsl.org/athletics.indoor-trackfor forms) or the performance must be posted onwww.Milestat.comin order to be used to enter theVHSL Group 6A Region C meet.
