2018 Cardinal District Championships
Thursday May 17thAND Saturday May 19th
(back up day May 18th)
Entries: Meet Entries will be done using the online entry system on milestat. We will follow the same protocol as the region meet in that as long as you have everything posted on milestat with the meet and date we will be good. If you do not have everything updated your athletes will be entered as a no time for the championship. The entry system is open.
Entry limits: 1 relay and 3 individuals per event
(There is one exception, if more than 3 of your athletes have met the district standard this season and it was run at a qualifying meet with the results recorded on milestat then you may enter as many athletes as you have had qualify in that event)
Entry Deadline: Entries on Milestat Entry Deadline Monday May 14th 8:00pm
3 entries per event, 1 relay team unless more then 3 have met the standard All District Rules in Place
DETERMINATION OF DISTRICT CHAMPIONS The tournament winner will be declared the District Champion.
AWARDS: Medals to top 3 individuals, trophy to team champion and runner-up Individual medals will be given to coaches after the meet. Team awards will be presented as soon as all results have been tabulated.
ADMISSION: General Admission: $6.00 for Adults/$4.00 for students with an ID Complimentary: Schools participating may issue Complimentary Cardinal District Passes & the standard VHSL acceptable passes for entry. VHSL, Regional Administrative, and working PRESS passes will be honored.
RULES: 2018 Edition National Federation rule Book and the 2018-19 edition of the VHSL Handbook.
SCORING: 10-8-6-4-2-1 Athletes should report at First Call. In events run by heats, all starters must report to the clerk at the check-in area before the first heat is run. Failure to report at the time will result in a scratch. Each individual declared for participation will have that event count against their event total, regardless of whether or not they compete in the event.
INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION: In one meet, a contestant may compete in any number of field events, but shall be limited to participation in only three running events. If one of the running events is the 3200 meter, an athlete may only run in one other event on the same day the 3200 on the day the 3200 is contested.
CONTROL OF THE FIELD: Each coach is asked to keep his/her squad in the stands, off the track, and out of the infield, except when an individual is competing or warming-up. The only people allowed on the infield are those coaches and event staff in appropriately identified coaching areas or boxes. All others may be disqualified.

TJ: Garfield Girls/Woodbridge Boys (1 hour open pit 4 jumps no finals)
HJ: Forest Park (5 alive)
SP: Hylton (4 throws no finals)
PV: Colgan/Forest Park

Qualification: Top three relays and top six individuals automatically qualify for the region meet. In addition athletes may qualify by meeting the regional time cuts
