The Brian Watkins I-95 Classic had a decent gathering of Northwest Region teams at Potomac Senior High School on Saturday. Host school Potomac showed just why they will have competitive squads in the region on both sides with their individual performances on Saturday. One of the top performers at the meet was Potomac's Brice Mathews, who broke 50 seconds in the 400 meter dash in a 49.67 winand came back with a solid 200 meter clocking of 21.95. Teammate Wesley Jones also finished first in two events as the 100 meter dash winner at 11.34 and leaping to mark of 22'4.25". Another great field event performance came from a Potomac Senior athlete with Pearl Bickersteth (pictured right by John Herzog) clearing 5'6" to automatically qualify for the state meet. Bickersteth is the returning outdoor state runner-up in the event as she cleared a personal best 5'8" last June at Todd Stadium. Read more... Brian Watkins I-95 Classic Complete Results
