VHSL Region 4C Track and Field Championship
John Handley High School: May 24th and 25th
Entry Guidelines:Entries will be done online through www.milestat.com
Use verified season-best performances on milestat, or enter a SPECIFIC note of the performance when doing entries. For example: "Dual vs. Millbrook 4/16/18".Please adjust hand timing by rounding up the next tenth, then adding 0.24 seconds, or simply check Hand Timed next to the entry time.
All field event performances should be entered in feet and inches.
The top 8 finishers in individual events and the top 4 teams in relay events per district, plus those individuals and relays meeting qualifying standards, advance to the Region 4C Championship (see standards which are included in the email).
Coaches Meeting:Scratches only.
A field competitor may scratch without penalty. A track competitor may scratch from an event without penalty, but may not be used in relays if it exceeds their original entry limitations.
State Entries:The top 4 individuals per Region and the top 4 relays, plus standards qualifiers, advance to the 4A State Championship
Miscellaneous:
Field Events: Participants must report to the event area by second call. Absence for the third call may result in a scratch for the event.
Track Events: Participants must report to the bullpen by second call. Absence for the third call could result in a scratch for the event and the remainder of the track events.
Only athletes in the bullpen and warming up are permitted on the infield. All other coaches, athletes, and spectators must remain outside of the fence around track area.
There will be three trial attempts for the shot put and discus. Flighted Shortest to Longest.
The top nine will advance to the finals. Finalists receive three additional attempts.
Long and Triple Jumps will be open pit.
High Jump and Pole Vault - starting heights: TBA by games committee
Uniform Rule: Meet management will follow the uniform rule as stated in the NFHS Track & Field Rule Book. It is the responsibility of the athletes and coaches to follow the uniform rule.

Implements:Meet officials must verify event implements.
Facility:8-lane rubber track, runways, high jump area
Only or - inch pyramid spikes are permitted
Concrete throwing circles
All teams should dress at home
Restrooms - press box/concession building
No team lockers will be available
Parking:FRIDAY: All buses should drop off at stadium and park at the Jefferson Street Learning Center Lower lot (Old John Kerr)
All other vehicles should park in the stadium parking lot.
SATURDAY: Normal Parking on Handley Blvd
Admission Fee:$7.00 for all spectators, school age and older. Athletes must be dressed in their school uniform to be admitted free. Coaches will have wrist bands also.
T-shirts:Region 4C Track & Field T-shirts will be on sale.
Concessions:Concessions will be available.
Hospitality:There will be a hospitality area in the facilities building reserved for Principals, ADs, T&F coaches and meet personnel ONLY. No athletes or managers will be allowed in the hospitality area.
