The 1st Annual Staunton High School Polar Bear Meet will begin at 11:00 A.M. Teams can start to arrive anytime at 10:00 A.M. and will be asked to drop off athletes at the top of the facing the track, as the track parking lot is very small. There will be a coaches meeting at 10:30 A.M. to discuss the regulations and rules, especially in these times with COVID. There will not be ANY spectators allowed inside the fence that surrounds the track, only officials, athletes, and coaches. The meet schedule will be as follows: Field Events: Begin promptly at 11:00 A.M. Boys Long Jump followed by Girls Long Jump: Each athlete will get a total of 4 jumps with no finals. Girls High Jump followed by Boys High Jump: Opening height will be 4 feet for women and 5 feet for men. Girls Shot Put followed by Boys Shot Put: Each thrower will receive four throws and not have any finals. Boys Triple Jump will follow Girls Long Jump: Each athlete will get a total of 4 jumps with no finals. Track Events: Will start right at 11:00 A.M. and will start immediately after the previous event ends.
