The 1/2 Region D Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Wednesday, February 17th, at Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring, Va.

Participants: 1/2D Region Indoor Track teams. Each team will be allowed to enter three athletes per event. Each athlete can participate in three running events and unlimited field events. If an athlete is competing in the 3,200 meters they can only participate in two running events. One relay team per school per relay event
Admission - $5.00. Tickets will be sent to each school for you to sell. Each athlete is allowed two tickets for their parents, guardians, etc. Spectators must bring the ticket with them to the meet. We will not be selling tickets at the meet. They must be purchased in advance. Coaches, you will need to send a list of the parents/spectators that are coming to me no later than Tuesday, February 16th. You should have received a form from our athletic director to fill out with your spectators who purchase tickets. This way we will have the list with us at the ticket gate in case someone forgets their ticket
Entries: Must be done on milestat. Entries will be due by Tuesday, February 16th, at noon. Each team can enter three athletes in individual events and one relay team per relay event
All athletes and coaches: You will have your temperature checked before being allowed to enter. You must enter the gate behind the field house
All spectators: Spectators will have their temperatures checked before entering. You must enter the gate behind the field house. There will be a list of questions attached to the gate that each spectator must answer and agree to before being allowed to enter
Spectators must wear masks at all times. Failure to comply will result in the spectator being asked to leave the track
Athletes must wear masks at all times with the exception of warming up or competing in an event. Once you have completed your event you must return to your team camp and put your mask back on
Spectators: To keep everyone socially distanced all spectators must remain in the bleachers. No one is allowed on the track or at a field event unless they are a coach, an athlete competing in an event, or a worker
Trainer: A certified athletic trainer will be on site
Buses: Buses will park in the parking lot behind the field house
Team Camps: Each team will have an assigned area for team camps and assigned areas for warming up. That information along with a map of the track will be sent a couple of days before the meet
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are available on the left as soon as you walk through the gate
Concessions: There will be no concessions
Meet Instructions:
Only athletes competing in a field event are allowed in the field event area
For running events, athletes must report to the bullpen by the 2nd call. Athletes will then be escorted to the starting line
Timing will be done by Tim Johnson of Trojan timing. Results will be posted live on milestat. Just go to milestat.com, click on calendar at the top of the page, and then click on the meet page. There will be a link that you can click on to see the results posted live as the meet is going on. Results will not be posted at the meet
Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1 (Individual events and relays)
Field Events: Each athlete competing in the long and triple jump and the shot put will have 4 throws or jumps. No finals
Shot Put: Each thrower will pick up their own shot put. It will not be retrieved by someone else and rolled to them
Race Results: The top three athletes in each individual event and the top three relay teams in each relay event will advance to the state meet on March 3rd at Liberty University
Awards: The top two teams, boys and girls, will receive trophies. The top three in individual events and the top three in relay events will receive medals. The top athlete (boys and girls), determined by points, will receive a plaque. The coach of the year for both boys and girls will receive a plaque
Directions to Patrick Henry High School: If traveling north on I-81, take exit 26 (Emory exit), and turn left. If traveling south, turn right. Follow this road for approximately 2 miles. You will pass Emory and Henry College on your right. After passing Emory and Henry you will continue for half a mile and then take a left on Mount Calm Drive. Patrick Henry High School will be on your right after you turn on Mount Calm. Follow Mount Calm until you see the track and football field on your right. Pull into the parking lot behind the field house
Gates will open at 1:00. Coaches meeting will be at 1:45. The meet will begin at 2:00. Schedule is as follows:
1:45 - Coaches Meeting
2:00 - Girls Long Jump followed by Triple Jump
Boys Long Jump followed by Triple Jump
Girls High Jump followed by Boys High Jump
Girls Shot Put followed by Boys Shot Put
2:30 - Girls 4 x 800 relay
2:45 - Boys 4 x 800 relay
3:00 - Approximate time running events will start. We will begin once field events are over
