New Rules in Effect
There are a few new NFHS rules in effect for this season. These rules will be followed. First, there will be no "runbacks" in long jump, triple jump, or pole vault. Coaches be aware that athletes will not be allowed to run in the opposite (non-legal) direction of the runway's orientation. Athletes will not be permitted to "run back" in order to get their starting marks. Second, the exchange zone for the 4x100m relay has been changed to include the flyzone. Teams now have 30m to exchange the baton. This zone begins from the little "fly zone" triangle and ends at the second big triangle. The 4x400m and 4x800m relay exchange zones remain the same (20m)
