There is finally a national championship for middle school athletes! Here student-athletes will be able to compete against the best in the entire nation. Below you will find all the relevant information for this event. Please keep checking back as more information will be added during the summer with regards to qualifying, spectators, and much much more!
Middle School Indoor Track & Field Nationals
Where: Virginia Beach Sports Center The same venue that hosts NCAA Nationals.
When: Friday, March 18th, 2022 through Sunday, March 20th, 2022
How To Sign-up: Athletes, Coaches, Parents, and Teams can sign-up using the MileSplit registration system. INFORMATION ON HOW TO DO THAT IS RIGHT HERE!
Registration Window: You can sign-up from December 1st at noon until March 13th at 11:00pm EST.
Who Is Eligible To Compete: All athletes who are in middle school. We understand this definition is different by school/district so the ability to compete depends on if your school is considered a middle school. Athletes who are in 9th grade and up are not eligible.
Who Can Sign-up: Athletes can sign-up as a part of a club, school team, or as an unattached individual. You can sign-up on this meet page by clicking the link above. The top 50 entries will be accepted, if there are more than 50 individuals entered, the cutoff will be posted.
Awards: The top six finishers in every event will receive a medal. The top state team will also receive an award. The team scores will be calculated by athletes' home state. The state with the most points will be awards this award.
Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will be the day prior to the event at the track and at the packet-pickup window the following two days.
Sanctioning: This event will be sanctioned and insured by the USATF. Once the sanctioning is approved it will be posted here.
Results: Live results will be posted on MileSplit.com!
Photo Coverage: MileSplit will be live on site with video and photo coverage of the event.

Race Seeding: Races, lanes, and assignments will be based on verified seeds in the MileSplit system.. All seed marks must be verified using the MileSplit rankings.
Sending Results to MileSplit for Rankings: If you need results to be added to the MileSplit database and thus added to your athletes' page, please email your state site editor with the necessary results file and information. Those email addresses can be found at the bottom of your state site's MileSplit page.
