THE VHSL ADVANCES THE TOP 4 INDIVIDUALS AND THE TOP 4 RELAYS FROM FROM EACH EVENT IN THE REGION MEET TO THE STATE MEET.

Scoring: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all events

Entries: teams are allowed 4 athletes per event and 1 relay team per relay.

Event Information:

In one meet a contestant may compete in any number of field events but shall be limited to participate in only three running events.  Exception, a contestant who competes in the 3200-meter run may compete in only one other running event on the same day. 

Standards: No standards will be used for the 2021 outdoor championships

Reporting: Each contestant in a running event shall report to the clerk of course at the first call. 

Failure to report by the third call will result in a scratch.  Each individual declared for participation must actually participate.

Call For Event:

First call - 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of event

Second call - 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time of event

Third call - 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time of event

EQUIPMENT:STARTING BLOCKS WILL BE FURNISHED BY MEET MANAGEMENT.  ALL OTHER EQUIPMENT, TEAM OR PERSONAL, MUST BE SUPPLIED BY COMPETING TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS.  ALL THROWERS SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN SHOT & DISCUS, VERTICAL JUMPERS MUST HAVE THEIR OWN LANDING TARP.  PER VHSL COVID-19 GUIDELINES, SPIKES ONLY WILL BE ALLOWED ON TRACK SURFACE.

FACILITY:PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ATHLETES UNDERSTAND THAT THEY MUST BE ON THEIR BEST 

BEHAVIOR AND TAKE CARE OF THIS FACILITY.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR AREAS ARE CLEANED UP BEFORE LEAVING THE MEET.  ATHLETES NEED TO STAY OUT OF UNAUTHORIZED AREAS OF THE FACILITY.  ALL SPORTSMANSHIP RULES ARE IN EFFECT FOR THIS MEET.

Throws: Our throws area is located by the JF tennis courts behind our gymnasium.  These are accessible by following the drive behind the school.  There are signs that will direct you to the throwing circles. 

MEET NOTES: LONG JUMP, TRIPLE JUMP, SHOT PUT & DISCUS WILL BE 3 ATTEMPTS W/ TOP 9 BEST PERFORMANCES MOVING TO FINALS FOR THEIR FINAL 3 ATTEMPTS

RUNNING EVENTS WILL BE RUN SLOW SECTION TO FAST SECTION. GIRLS THEN BOYS. FIELD EVENT FLIGHTS WILL BE WORST FLIGHT TO BEST FLIGHT.

4 X 100 METER RELAY IS LANES THE ENTIRE WAY.

4 X 400 METER RELAY IS 3-TURN STAGGER. 

TIME SCHEDULE: THE TIME SCHEDULE IS A SET SCHEDULE TO PLAN YOUR ENTRIES UPON.  ONLY A WEATHER DELAY WILL FACILITATE MOVING TO A ROLLING SCHEDULE.  THIS DECISION WILL BE MADE BY MEET MANAGEMENT AND THE GAMES COMMITTEE SHOULD A NEED ARISE.

1:00Boys Long Jump (2-3 Flights) Followed by Boys Triple Jump (2-3 Flights) - Top 9 to Finals

Girls Long Jump (2-3 Flights) Followed by Girls Triple Jump (2-3 Flights) - Top 9 to Finals

Girls Pole Vault Followed by Boys Pole Vault

Girls Shot Put (2-3 Flights) Followed by Boys Shot Put (2-3 Flights) - Top 9  to Finals

Boys Discus (2-3 Flights) Followed by Girls Discus (2-3 Flights) - Top 9 to Finals

**POLE VAULT AND HIGH JUMP WILL BE CONTESTED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LYNCHBURG ON TUESDAY, JUNE 8TH WITH GIRLS HIGH JUMP STARTING AT 12 FOLLOWED BY BOYS AND GIRLS POLE VAULT STARTING AT 3 FOLLOWED BY BOYS
