If there is severe weather (thunder or lightning) you will be asked to seek shelter (in your car or under the portico of the school) and we will suspend the meet for :30 minutes.

Track opens at 5:00 - first event 5:45.

SPIRE Twilight Invitational

Saturday, May 14 - 5:00-10:00 p.m.

Registration deadline:  May 11, 2021 at midnight.

ENTRY INFORMATION:

High School - Each team is allowed 4 athletes per event and 2 relays per event.

Junior High - Each team is allowed 3 athletes per event and 1 relay per event.

Entry fee: $200 per team (this price includes both middle and high school, male and female). $20 unattached athletes.

ORDER OF EVENTS:  

Rolling schedule.

Girls first, then boys. 

Seed times, slower heats first.

JH runs before HS.  May combine JH and HS to fill heats

o  Track opens at 5:00 p.m. (please don't set up or get on the track earlier as soccer games are finishing up).

o  Coaches Meeting 5:15 p.m. near the starting line.

 Running events start at 5:45 p.m.

Field Events:

Long jump:6:00-7:00 open pit

Discus and shot 5:30-6:30 - Only allowing participants who already have marks from this season (no newcomers). High school only.

Shot put weights - HS Boys= 12#, HS Girls - 8.8 #
Discus weights - HS boys = 1.6kg, HS Girls = 1kg

TEAM INFORMATION:

o  Results and fully automatic timing provided by Blue Ridge Timing.

o  Announcer will instruct athletes when to visit the Clerk of the Course to receive hip numbers.

o  Team scoring: Top six. 1st place (10), 2nd (8), 3rd (6), 4th (4), 5th (2), 6th (1)

o   400 meter, six lane rubberized track. Spikes are allowed.

o   Porta-potties are available.

o   Each team is responsible for bringing their own starting blocks, relay batons, and water containers.

o   Volunteers: Each team may be asked to provide volunteers. If needed, volunteers will be assigned jobs at the Coaches' Meeting.
