UVA Wise Cross Country Course

The University of Virginia's College at

Wise is located in the town of Wise, in beautiful Southwest Virginia. Through

excellence in teaching, personalized attention and commitment to individual

growth, The University of Virginia's College at Wise prepares students to be

engaged citizens. Drawing upon its foundation as a public liberal arts

institution in the Appalachian region of Virginia, the College strives to build

a diverse community of learners with the drive to serve and lead in their

communities, the nation, and the world.

Time Schedule:

3:30 pm: Facility Opens

4:00 pm: Coaches Meeting

4:30 pm: Middle School Race (Combined)

5:00 pm: Varsity Women's Race (up to 10 Runners)

5:45 pm: Varsity Men's Race (up to 10 runners)

6:30 pm: Team Awards Ceremony

 

Awards:

Middle School - Top

10 boys and Top 10 girls will receive a medal

Varsity - Top 10

boys and Top 10 girls will receive a medal

JV - Top 5 boys and

Top 5 girls will receive a medal

Middle School - Top

Team in each gender will receive a plaque

High School Varisty

teams in both genders. Middle School Races will be $30 per gender or $60 for

both. Individuals or teams with less than 5 athletes will cost $10 per entry.

Entries: Entries

will close at 11:59 PM on Sunday, September 17^th. Middle school and

JV Races will be unlimited entries. Varsity Races will be limited to 10 runners

per team.

 

Surface: The course is located in the fields around

the observatory on the campus of UVA Wise. The course is a combination of grass

and gravel. With most of the course consisting of grass. The course is mostly

flat with a few rolling hills.

 

Packets: Packet pickup will begin at 3:30 PM. The

location will be in the team tent area. The location will be marked on the map.  

 

Parking: Team Buses will drop athletes at the team

camp area. From there buses will park below the cross country area in the

softball field parking lot. Spectators will be able to park in the upper

student parking lot. A map showing these areas will be provided to attending

teams.

 

Merchandise: Meet

T-shirts will be on sale at the meet.
