Courtland's Jackie Graham (pictured by Ted Plunkett) has raced district rival Sam Huffman of Chancellor twice this season in major meets with Huffman finishing ahead by an average of 15 seconds each time. Graham will attempt to close that 15 second gap on Wednesday at Loriella Park for the Battlefield District Championships. Graham and the Courtland girls will also not be settling for second place in the team standings with Spotsylvania in position to complete a team sweep of titles. The Spotsylvania boys are the defending champions and expected to win big as they prepare to make a return trip to the state meet when they face off with the Bay Rivers District schools at the Region I Meet next week. Three boys individuals will be racing for the win in Chancellor's Michael Waller, Spotsylvania's Tony McBride, and Eastern View's Charlie Bayne.
