Blue Ridge District Championships Virtual Meet Preview

Northside junior Erin Wheeler (pictured by Brandon Miles) is emerging as the best runner at her school since Catherine White graduated. Wheeler has ran a season best time of 19:28 for 5000 meters and has finished high in many invitationals this season to draw her consideration as a contender for the Region III individual title. She competes on Wednesday at Lord Botetourt High School's home course for the Blue Ridge District title and looks to lead her team to the title as well. Alleghany's Cimarron Nicely will attempt to win his first of many Blue Ridge District titles as the freshmen has a great shot of winning along with the William Byrd pair of Nick Leffell and Kevin O'Connor.
