Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2024 (First Inclement Weather Date, Thursday, May 23. Second Inclement Weather Date- Saturday, May 25, 2024)

1:00 p.m.- Coaches Meeting
1:45 p.m.- Field Events
3:00 p.m.- Running Events (All events will be finals done by sections).
Eligibles: The top four 1A finishers in the Tidewater District Meet, Northern Neck District Meet, and Eastern Shore District Meet (or representatives as determined by each district) per event, and all athletes who achieved the qualifying time/mark in a regular season event with Fully Automated Timing. All entries must have a mark (entries with no marks/distances will not be accepted). Marks must have been accomplished during the regular season or district championship contest. Best time/mark from the season may be used for seeding purposes.
Deadline for entries is Sunday, May 19, 2024, 7 p.m.
Do not cost an athlete the opportunity to compete in the regional track meet! Please read and be familiar with all rule changes as listed in the NFHS rule book and the rules clinic for coaches and officials on the VHSL website.

Scoring and Timing: Scoring and timing will be handled by Charles City County High School. Fully Automated Timing (FAT) will be operated. Please make sure that your entries are submitted to the deadline date to ensure accuracy and that all entries are entered into the system in a timely matter. Changes will not be accepted after May 19, 2024. The top eight places will be scored (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) for the meet.
Coaches Meeting: No additions will be allowed at this meeting. Only deletions and name corrections will be allowed.
Equipment: Each team is responsible for providing their own shot, discus, baton. VHSL recommends that each athlete has their own shot/discus. Charles City High School will provide starting blocks. All competitors must use -inch pyramid spikes or flats while competing. Violations of maximum length or different shaped-spikes will result in disqualification.
Horizontal Field Events: Three throws/jumps in the preliminary rounds, with the top nine receiving an additional three throws/jumps. (If the event has less than nine participants, all jumpers/throwers will receive four total throws).
Vertical Field Events: Starting Heights TBD.
Disqualification: Competitors shall be disqualified from his/her event if a coach or team member is in a restricted area designated for competition. All non-competing athletes are not to be in the field during the events. Coaches and athletes are not to occupy the infield during running events unless they are competing in a field event.
Awards: A team championship trophy will be awarded to the top boys' and girls' team only. The awarding of medals is TBD.
State Entries: The top four finishers in each event and top four relays will qualify for the Group 1A State Championship meet automatically. All athletes who reached a mark/time during a sanctioned event with five or more teams with fully automated timing will automatically qualify for the state championship meet. Entries for the state championship must be done on Milestat.com.
*NOTE for 1A Region A Schools: If the 1A Region A Championship meet is canceled and cannot be made up, the top four performances according to Milestat.com per event will be the region's representatives in the 1A State Championship meet. (If all districts have completed their district meets, the state entries will be the eligible athletes/relay teams who qualified for the regional meet with the best marks).
