VA Catholic Schools State Championships: Bishop Ireton wins 1st title since 1986

The Paul VI girls and Bishop Ireton boys enjoyed a great day on a cool weather day at Newport News Park for the Virginia Catholic Schools State Championships as they made the long trip back to Northern Virginia boasting the state team and individual champions from their respective schools. Bishop Ireton's Michael Anderson (pictured by Ted Plunkett) has made a big leap in one year to go from a 28th place 18:19 finish in last year's Catholic Schools State Meet to claim the state title this year in a dramatic 16:36 victory. His individual win also helped the Bishop Ireton boys claim their first state title since 1986. VA Catholic Schools State Championship Results
